Vixie, I've been looking for you for many years. If you ever see this, I do hope it finds you, wherever you are. Whenever it may. ♥
It has come to my attention attention that over the past couple of years there have been very negative commentary about Chickbot/Holly-Beth Kraft (HBK) on some forums. These comments were mean spirited and vulgar in nature and are based on lies and smears. If I had known it was going on at the time I would have defended HBK then. Unfortunately it's too late now for me to go to where it happened and respond, but hopefully it's not to late to do it here.
The comments I have read all have several things in common. They go right for the ad hominem attack and avoid any discussion about what HBK actually said and did. At no point where any accusations backed up with a link, url, image, photo, audio, video, someone pretending to be her, or even a phony email. The comments looked almost identical from year to year. As if they were copy/pasted from some file. On top of that they seemed like the same crap I read about Dave Anez, Brain Clevenger, Mike Renner, David Malki, Richard Stevens and so on over the past 15 years. The date on the last set of commentary was from 2014. 2014! HBK quit doing her comic in 2005. From the looks of things she left the Net entirely in 2012. Why the smack talk now? It's pretty damn pointless to complain about someone ten years later. Mean while cyberbullies that have been rampaging across the Internet for over past couple of decades have been left untouched. If HBK were such a bad person then why does Dave Anez still host her comics?
Why am I doing this? I'll tell you why. HBK was nice to me once a very long time ago. I asked for her help on a project. Unlike the other people I asked for help who went out of their way to be rude and disgusting in their rejections to me; HBK was polite, kind, and well informed in saying no to me. She went out of her way to be nice when everybody else took pot shots. I treasure that little memory of mine to this very day and until something on the order of the "Super Chickbot Callout" should materialize I will continue to be on her side.
